LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Consolidate all circle theorems covered so far

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able solve circle problems using these circle theorems:

  • Angle at the centre is twice angle at the circumference
  • Bow tie theorem - angles in same sector are equal
  • Angle in a semi circle is always 90°
  • A triangle with two radii is always isosceles
  • In a cyclic quadrilateral opposite angles always add up to 180°
  • The radius at a point where a tangent meets the circle is always a right angle
  • Tangents from a point outside of a circle always form an isosceles triangle
